FAQ.
How do you choose the colour for my brows?
The pigment choice for your brows is made by looking at the colour of your natural brow hairs and the undertones of your skin. There are many different choices I can mix and match to get the most accurate colour for you.
Im scared, I don’t want big thick brows….?
This is understandable but rest assured when mapping out your brow tattoo around your existing brows, the thickest part of your own brows is used - unless you have the thin 90s brow and are needing a fresh new shape created.
You will always be shown your brow map and I can make any adjustments if you see something not right and you get to give the final go ahead before we begin.
Can I get lip blushing if I have lip filler?
Yes, you can.
Lip filler does not effect lip blush. The same goes for if you don’t have lip filler, lip blushing is fine to get - just wait 4 weeks between any treatments.
Can lip blushing make my lips look bigger? I don’t want lip filler.
Lip blushing won’t add volume to the lips but it can definitely give appearance of fuller lips, how? We usually lose colour around the border of our lips (known as the vermillion border, where the lips meet the skin). Lip blush is done right up to the vermillion border filling in that colour loss and defining the lips, which then makes them appear fuller.
Does getting a brow tattoo hurt?
I will start with saying that you are getting a needle to the face (brows/lips). But in all seriousness Ive had many clients compare it to face needling and saying that was more unpleasant than their cosmetic tattoo, many clients have also been pleasantly surprised that it was a more of an unusual discomfort rather than a “pain” or “hurt”. Many clients do like to use numbing cream however to keep comfortable which can be purchased over the counter from any chemist.
Why does a brow tattoo turn blue / grey?
I like to give this example…. A body tattoo is tattooed deeper into the skin than a cosmetic tattoo. A cosmetic brow tattoo is tattooed into the upper layer of the skin where it regenerates. Over time the cells in this layer will break down the colour (pigment) of your brow tattoo, this will cause the tattoo to shrink, fade and turn a blue/grey hue. A colour boost appointment is recommended to keep you and your brows looking the best anywhere from 1.5yrs for a combination or ombre brow tattoo.
Can I wear make-up after getting my brows tattooed?
You can wear make up to the appointment and you can apply make up to your face immediately after - Just no make up directly on the treated area (lips or brows) during the healing process which is can be from 5 and up to 10 days.
Can I exercise?/Why cant I exercise?
Until the tattoo has gone through the healing process and peeled/flaked off you can not do any exercise that brings on sweat.
The pigment in your new tattoo is foreign to your body, sweat contains sodium which will mix with the pigment and then your body will flush it out, resulting in loss of pigment and your brows will not look as good as they should be.
Why do the brows disappear during the healing process and then re appear?
The skin is initially broken during the brow tattoo process to implement the pigment/colour. Once the skin heals over after the scabbing, flaking/peeling process the brows will look extremely faded out and then suddenly pop back after a few days. This is called lightfastness and is the tattoo being seen from underneath your top layer of skin.
What is the downtime?
In the days after your brow tattoo you can think they visually may look to dark or “bold” you will then experience peeling and flaking around day 5-7, for lip blush around 3-5 days. None of these things are too out of the ordinary.
Please keep in mind if you have a special date/event you want the brows to be perfect for i.e your wedding or birthday, you need a perfection visit at 6-10 weeks so keep that in mind when selecting your appointment date.
