Lip Blushing

Before and immediately after lip blushing by Brooke Byrnes

Lip blushing is becoming very popular treatment for women that can give you the most natural looking enhanced lips. Lip blush gives you a boost of all over even colour and defines the border of your lips giving a natural looking fullness.

Why lip blush?

Lip blush defines outer border of your lips - Sometimes your natural lip colour blends with your skin or becomes pale, this can cause you to loose sight of the shape of your lips.

Lip blushing can also disguise scarring on lips from cold sores.

Lip blush provides beautifully even coverage of colour to pale or purple lips.

It gives the effect of fuller lips without need for lip filler.

Lip blush can create symmetry for asymmetrical lips.

No need to consistently re apply lipstick.

Ombre Lips

Ombre lips is a style of lip blushing/tattooing where a darker colour is used around the border of the lips, just like when you would use a darker lip liner (though keep in mind we never over line lips in lip tattooing). A lighter colour is used in the centre of the lips. Once healed the lips look sheer and defined with style.

Client Lip Healing Process Photos

First image: Lips before lip blush - This client was happy with her natural lip colour but was wanting to add definition to the borders of her lips. She brought in her favourite lip liners and some photos of lip blush colours that she liked, with that I was able to put together a few colour options - We are keeping the essence of her natural colour but enhancing slightly.

Second image: Lips immediately after lip blush - Colour is looking like a bright lipstick as the lips are fresh, slight swelling is normal, this clients swelling had gone down after about 48 hours but this can differ less/more. The first night you have your lip blush please trust the process as the colour will not look like what you originally saw in the ink pot or on your hand in the consultation.

Third image: Lips 24hrs after lip blush treatment - Borders are defined! brightness has settled.

Fourth image: Lips 48hrs after lip blush treatment - Swelling is gone and at this point the clients lips had already flaked and peeled meaning they have physically healed on the outside. The colour has softened again and will continue to settle for about a week. The coverage of colour will fully settle and reveal over the next 6-8 weeks but the scary part is over.

LIp BLUSHING info

Lip blushing is a cosmetic tattooing procedure with effects that last 1.5 to 2.5 years. The lips will appear extremely bright for the first few days and will go through a healing process. Once healed they reveal a soft tone with a blush like effect.

Colour selection

Its best to bring with you your favourite everyday lipstick so that the undertones that you like can be taken into account by technician. If you don’t wear lipstick everyday that’s okay! That suggests that you would prefer a more natural looking lip colour and this can be discussed during the consult portion of your treatment.

Shape

When mapping the lips there is no changes made to your natural lip shape or over lining outside of the border of your lips, your natural lip borders are defined using mapping and then tattooed with the lip blush technique, which creates a natural enhancement and lips will have the illusion of being fuller. If you do wish for volume please also consider filler.

Healing

The healing process for lip blushing is around 3-5 days. An aftercare kit with instructions will be provided for you with all the products you need.
